Motivation for seeking a seat on the Public Service Commission:
I aim to serve the people of Montana effectively and honorably as the next public service commissioner for District #3, leveraging my experience as a public servant and small business owner to protect customers from unfair rate increases and promote energy investment.
Top three priorities for the Public Service Commission:
1. Protect customers from unfair rate increases.
2. Promote investment in Montana’s energy future for reliability.
3. Elevate the voices of rural communities, especially farmers and ranchers.
Role of the PSC in addressing climate change:
I believe the free market should dictate renewables’ affordability and not be propped up with higher rates or subsidies.
Effective regulation of the state’s monopoly utilities:
I will focus on regulatory and public safety responsibilities to support energy investment and maintain a business-friendly climate.
Providing more affordable electricity:
Promote battery storage research, hydrogen production, and maintain investments in hydro and thermal resources until a robust renewable storage component is in place.
Building public trust and transparency:
Educate the public on the PSC’s role, encourage active participation, listen to stakeholders, and prioritize reliable and affordable service rates.
