What motivated you to run for a seat on the Public Service Commission?
My decision was influenced by the passing of a dear friend who, like me, dedicated himself to making the world a better place.
What are your top three priorities for the Public Service Commission and how do you plan to address them?
My top three priorities are:
1) Restoring balance to the PSC
2) Addressing the changing demand and location of energy supply
3) Improving public service regarding proposed changes in energy policy
I plan to work collaboratively in a nonpartisan manner to achieve these goals
Do you believe the PSC plays a role in addressing climate change, and if so, what is that role?
Climate change, like any other pollutant, should be managed using common sense approaches.
What does effective regulation of the state’s monopoly utilities entail?
Effective regulation involves reviewing cost analyses, understanding the information provided, and ensuring the accuracy of the sources
If elected, how would you work towards providing more affordable electricity for Montana residents and small businesses?
Affordable electricity for small businesses and working families is crucial for Montana’s prosperity
What steps can commissioners take to enhance public trust and transparency in the PSC’s operations?
Improving community outreach and increasing understanding among everyday Montanans are areas where the PUC has been lacking.
