BILLINGS — Saturday offered a slight reprieve for Montana and Wyoming in terms of weather, with a small ridge of high pressure bringing less intense gusty winds compared to Friday. However, a trough of low pressure is approaching, leading to increased cloud cover overnight and continued breezy conditions with mild overnight lows.
The northern Rockies will experience the first of several storms from this weekend through next weekend, starting with showers and isolated thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday, along with below-average temperatures. By Tuesday, the storm will move southward, resulting in a decrease in shower activity.
Following the departure of this storm, another trough of low pressure from the Pacific will impact the region from late Wednesday through Friday, bringing cooler temperatures and more chances for rain, thunderstorms, and mountain snow. There is also the potential for a third trough to affect the area by next Saturday.
