The Cowboys enter another year coming off a disappointing end to their last season. Dak Prescott is entering another contract year that will determine if he remains the star of America’s team, or has to find a new home in 2025.
Let’s take a look at the highlights of their schedule for the 2024-25 NFL season, plus their odds to win the NFC East, the NFC and Super Bowl 59:
Dallas Cowboys 2024-25 schedule release: Best games to watch for Cowboys 2024-25 season
- Cowboys at Browns Week 1, Sunday, Sept. 8 at 4:25 p.m. on FOX
- Lions at Cowboys Week 6, Sunday, Oct. 13 at 4:25 p.m. on FOX
- Cowboys at 49ers Week 8, Sunday, Oct. 27 at 8:20 p.m. on NBC
- Eagles at Cowboys Week 10, Sunday, Nov. 10 at 4:25 p.m. on CBS
- Texans at Cowboys Week 11, Monday, Nov. 18 at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN
- Cowboys at Eagles Week 17, Sunday, Dec. 29 at 4:25 p.m. on FOX
The Cowboys went 12-5 in 2023-24 to win the NFC East and enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the conference. But that didn’t stop another postseason collapse for Dallas, who were dismantled at Jerry World, 48-32 (down 27-0 in the first half), to the Green Bay Packers to see their season ended early yet again.
They’ll look to turn a new leaf in a contract year for Prescott, who is looking to become one of, if not the highest paid QBs in the league.
Things start with a matchup in Cleveland against the Browns — in what’s set to be a nationally televised game because it’s Tom Brady’s broadcasting debut for FOX.
The Cowboys’ Week 7 bye is sandwiched between two fellow NFC powerhouses in the Lions and 49ers, who faced each other in the NFC Championship a season ago.
An in-state rivalry will be renewed when the Texans come to Dallas from Houston. C.J. Stroud and Micah Parsons will go out of the content room as friends and face off on the field as foes in this one.
But arguably the two biggest games of the season will come against their biggest rivals. Two division matchups against the Eagles could determine who wins the NFC East this year. Note: no one has repeated as division champion in the NFC East since the Eagles won four in a row from 2001-04.
Dallas Cowboys futures odds 2024-25: Best bets for Cowboys, including Super Bowl odds
Ezekiel Elliott’s return to Dallas will be a fun sight to see for fans, but overall, not much has changed with this Cowboys roster. The front office didn’t do much in the offseason, leaving many scratching their heads after what was an extremely disappointing end to their season.
Super Bowl 59 odds: Dallas Cowboys (+1700 or better)
Even though they didn’t add much, this Cowboys roster is still one of the best in the league — on paper. CeeDee Lamb is a top-5 receiver, Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs (when healthy) continue to be forces on defense and Prescott has a high ceiling when he’s clicking.
If the dice roll right and things go as well as they possibly can, the Cowboys should have odds as good as anyone to raise the Lombardi Trophy this season.
However, all those things happening remains to be seen.
Cowboys NFC East odds 2024-25: (+130 or better)
The Cowboys are tied with the Eagles for the best odds to win the division this season. The Commanders and Giants (both +1000 or better) are a ways away from being in the mix.
Philly won the division in 2022-23, made it all the way to the Super Bowl and controlled the division until the final month of the season when they collapsed — allowing Dallas to take over.
As we already touched upon, no one has repeated in this division in 20 years, but things are so tight between the top 2 squads, that anything can happen.
