The Giant fell back down to earth last season after putting together a surprising 2022-23 campaign that not only included a playoff berth, but a win as well. This past year didn’t go as well and left us with a lot of questions for this upcoming season.
Let’s take a look at the highlights of their schedule for the 2024-25 NFL season, plus their odds to win the NFC East, Super Bowl 59 and more:
New York Giants 2024-25 schedule release: Best games to watch for Giants 2024-25 season
- Vikings at Giants Week 1, Sunday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. on FOX
- Giants at Commanders Week 2, Sunday, Sept. 15 at 1:00 p.m. on FOX
- Cowboys at Giants Week 4, Thursday, Sept. 26 at 8:15 p.m. on PRIME
- Eagles at Giants Week 7, Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1:00 p.m. on FOX
- Panthers at Giants Week 10, Sunday, Nov. 10 at 9:30 a.m. on NFL NET
- Giants at Cowboys Week 13, Thursday, Nov. 28 at 4:30 p.m. on FOX
The Giants followed up their playoff winning season in 2022-23 (which included a Coach of the Year win for Brian Daboll) with a 6-11 performance last year. Daniel Jones missed most of the season with a torn ACL and wasn’t all that special when he was on the field anyway.
After debating whether or not to take a quarterback at the No. 6 pick (or later) all offseason, New York elected to take speedy wide receiver Malik Nabers out of LSU instead. This means Jones, who can be cut after the year despite signing a four-year deal in 2023 (last two years are non-guaranteed), is likely playing for his job in 2024-25.
That starts with the Vikings taking a trip to MetLife Stadium in Week 1, where we’ll see a new era from the purple in gold with either Sam Darnold or rookie J.J. McCarthy under center.
Nabers gets to see his former QB at LSU just a week later, with the Giants heading down to Washington to face No. 2 pick Jayden Daniels and the Commanders.
The classic Dallas-New York rivalry continues with a Week 4 matchup in Jersey, but will take center stage on everyone’s TV screens on Thanksgiving in Dallas during Week 13.
Just about every Giants fan will have the division matchup with the Eagles circled on their calendars this year. Saquon Barkley will play his first game against the Giants since signing with their bitter rivals in the offseason. This one will be at home as well.
Another notable one for New York actually takes place across the pond, with the Giants and Panthers facing off in London during Week 10.
All in all, the Giants have a tough schedule already just being in the NFC East, but they’ve got some other tough matchups outside of the division, including Cleveland, Cincinnati and Baltimore.
New York Giants futures odds 2024-25: Best bets for Giants, including Super Bowl odds
The Giants suffered some key losses in Barkley and Xavier McKinney, while adding pieces like Nabers and Brian Burns. While the defense has the potential to be great, the offense still has a lot of question marks and could be in trouble quickly if Jones doesn’t make progress.
Super Bowl 59 odds: New York Giants (+10000 or better)
It would take some magic for the Giants to win the Super Bowl this year, but truly anything is possible.
On top of their QB questions and tough division, they’ve got a hard schedule that could see them enter tanking mode sooner than later in order to get a high draft pick.
If the Giants are your favorite team, then sure, sprinkle on them a bit for fun. But this team has one of the longest odds to win it all this season, so don’t expect to get a payout.
NFL OROY odds 2024-25: Malik Nabers (+1400 or better)
Nabers was the second wide receiver taken off the board in what was considered an extremely deep draft for pass catchers, just two spots behind Marvin Harrison Jr.
Despite Harrison Jr. being the big name all of 2023 and ultimately being taken first, Nabers convinced some throughout both the season and draft process that he could be the better player in this draft.
Of course, Nabers won’t just be competing against Harrison Jr. or any wide receiver for the OROY honor. A number of first round QBs and some later round RBs will have something to say about it as well.
The unanimous All-American and first-team All-SEC selection led college football in receiving yards, while catching 89 passes and 13 touchdowns in his last year at LSU. He’s the LSU all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards, and he’s also got immense speed (4.35 40-yard dash) and solid size (6-feet, 200 pounds).
Nabers could be the key to Jones’ success and vice versa. If they can click this summer and early in the season, the sky’s the limit for the duo.
