After Christopher Bell won a rain-shorted Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the NASCAR Cup Series heads to one of its newest tracks this weekend for the Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois – just outside of St. Louis.
This will be just the third Cup race at Gateway’s 1.25-mile, egg-shaped oval, with Joey Logano winning the inaugural race in 2022 and Kyle Busch taking the checkered flag last year.
In two races at WWTR, Busch has been the best driver. Not only is he the defending champion, Busch finished second in the first Cup race there after being passed by Logano with two laps to go.
Who will drive to victory lane this Sunday?

Pick to win Enjoy Illinois 300: Kyle Larson (+650)
Larson, driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy, attempted The Double last weekend, trying to become just the fifth person to run in the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 in the same day.
After a delayed start to the Indy 500, Larson finished 18th at the Brickyard, but never turned a lap in Charlotte because of the delay and the NASCAR race subsequently being cut short due to weather.
Look for Larson to come out hot this weekend at Gateway. In his two starts there, he finished 12th and fourth, respectively.
Larson is third in Cup points this year and has already won twice.
Top-5 Gateway pick: William Byron (+110)
Byron, driver of the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy, has three wins this season and sits fifth in points. In 14 races so far in 2024, he has nine top-10s.
His best finish at Gateway was eighth, last year.
Longshot pick to win Enjoy Illinois 300: Daniel Suarez (+6000)
Suarez, driver of the No. 99 Trackhouse Racing Chevy, has two career Cup wins, with his latest coming in the second race of this season at Atlanta.
Suarez finished seventh last year in the Enjoy Illinois 300.
At these odds, he could be worth a look.
