Looking to take advantage of some late spring and early summer deals? June is the perfect month for shopping.
While it may not have the big Memorial Day or Labor Day sales, June still offers plenty of discounts if you know where to look.
Melissa Robbins is seizing the opportunity to snag some of those deals: She’s particularly excited about the sales on outdoor gear at the moment.
“Maybe I’ll treat my husband to a new grilling set,” she mentioned.
She’s on the right track.
Brad Baker, the manager of a Great Lakes Ace Hardware store, shared that their location is currently stocked with discounted mowers, blowers, and grills in preparation for summer.
Consumer Reports details the sales
According to Samantha Gordon from Consumer Reports, June falls between two major holidays but still presents deals on big-ticket items like large appliances and mattresses.
“These sales usually extend from Memorial Day and lead into July 4th,” she explained.
Additionally, Consumer Reports predicts that tech deals will start surfacing ahead of Father’s Day.
Don’t overlook the discounts on laptops and electronic accessories for recent graduates either.
“We typically see sales on smartwatches, fitness trackers, headphones, and even TVs around the middle of the month,” Gordon added.
Start shopping now … but keep an eye out for better deals in July
Are you in need of a wardrobe update?
NerdWallet mentions in its report on June deals that Victoria’s Secret is known for offering discounts in June during its first semi-annual savings event.
For high-end clothing, consider waiting until Nordstrom’s anniversary sale in mid-July.
Another reason to hold off on June spending, as per Consumer Reports, is the upcoming Amazon Prime Day in July.
“Amazon has confirmed another Prime Day (or days) in July, which means major sales from all retailers,” Gordon noted.
If you’re looking to buy a gift or find something now, check out Consumer Reports’ deals.
Lastly, consider exploring local stores for deals, like Juan Hernandez was doing at his nearby Ace Hardware store.
“The service is great, everything is top-notch in this store,” he remarked.
That way, you can make the most of your money.
