HELENA — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Helena addiction counselor, Marvin Colman, charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of possessing dangerous drugs. Colman, who runs Colman Community Services, is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a woman receiving counseling services.
According to court documents, the woman alleges that Colman groped her and provided money for fentanyl. The Missouri River Drug Task Force initiated an investigation into the allegations in November of 2023 based on information from Helena Probation and Parole.
During the investigation, the woman allowed investigators access to her phone, revealing conversations with Colman. An employee of Colman also stated that they witnessed Colman giving money to the woman. The woman claims that Colman gave her approximately $500 over a month to purchase fentanyl, knowing the intended use of the money.
Court documents further state that the woman mentioned having to kiss Colman to receive money, as well as him offering to help her obtain drugs and stay at his office.
The arrest warrant and charges were filed on May 20, shortly after the Department of Labor and Industry sued Colman’s business, seeking over $50,000 in back pay and penalties for an employee.
Marvin Colman established Colman Community Services in 2022 and has been featured in various news stories discussing addiction and recovery. He is scheduled to appear in Lewis and Clark Justice Court on June 7 to face the felony sexual assault and drug charges.
