MADRID — Real Madrid is celebrating its 15th Champions League title with fans on the streets of the Spanish capital for the second time in three seasons and the sixth time in 10 years.
Several thousand fans gathered on Sunday to welcome the team back after their victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.
The celebrations may continue as Madrid is reportedly close to signing Kylian Mbappé, who recently left Paris Saint-Germain and is a target for the club.
The squad paraded through the city on an open bus, meeting with officials and greeting fans who lined the streets to cheer on the champions.

Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti led the celebrations, dancing with players wearing sunglasses and smoking a cigar.
Thousands of fans gathered at Cibeles square to see team captain Nacho Fernández celebrate with the Champions League trophy.
The festivities will conclude at the Bernabeu stadium where players will address the fans and showcase the trophy.
Nearly 80,000 fans watched the final at the stadium on large screens placed on the field.
Midfielder Kroos, who played his final match with Madrid on Saturday, promised fans the 15th title celebration three weeks ago, attracting chants from supporters to stay with the club.
Madrid previously celebrated the Spanish league title in a similar fashion but couldn’t use the Bernabeu due to a recent concert. However, the venue was made available in time for the Champions League victory celebrations.
