Polls open on Tuesday for Election Day, giving all Lewis and Clark County eligible voters who haven’t already submitted a ballot the opportunity to register and/or vote at up to 32 polling stations, roughly one per precinct.
The majority of polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

The Elections office in Lewis and Clark County offers the following tips:
- Check your voter status or polling place by visiting MyVoterPageMT.com or calling 406-447-8339.
- Make sure to bring your photo ID or other acceptable forms of identification to your polling place when you cast your vote.
- Absentee ballots can be dropped off at the County Elections Office, 316 N. Park Ave., or any polling place until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

On the ballot, there is a bond proposal to fund a new fire station, which could potentially raise property taxes by $7.64 for $100,000 homes, $22.92 for $300,000 homes, and $45.84 for $600,000 homes in the first year, potentially leading to increased rental costs.
Additionally, a mill levy is on the ballot to fund the expansion of city police and firefighter staff, estimated to increase property taxes by $42.74 for $100,000 homes, $128.22 for $300,000 homes, and $256.44 for $600,000 homes annually, potentially affecting rental costs.
Lastly, voters have the opportunity to approve or disapprove a review of the local governments of Lewis and Clark County, East Helena, and Helena. These reviews, mandated every 10 years by the Montana Constitution, allow citizens to assess the structure and funding of local government, as well as provide avenues for citizen recommendations to be included in future ballots.
As of Monday, the Secretary of State’s office had received nearly 25% of eligible votes statewide, with a turnout of approximately 27.7% in Lewis and Clark County.
