YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — An 83-year-old woman was attacked by a bison near the Storm Point Trail at Yellowstone Lake on Saturday, June 1, 2024, as reported by Yellowstone National Park.
According to a park press release, the woman from Greenville, South Carolina suffered serious injuries during the attack. The bison, which was defending its space, approached within a few feet of the woman and lifted her approximately a foot off the ground with its horns.
After the incident, the woman was taken to the Lake Medical Clinic and then airlifted to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
The press release did not provide any updates on the woman’s condition and did not disclose her identity.
