One year has passed since the TV revival of Justified with Justified: City Primeval. Despite receiving praise from fans and critics, there is no news of another return for Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins).
In the finale of the 2023 revival, Boyd resurfaces, hinting at a possible reunion with Raylan. Will this reunion ever happen? Goggins expressed his interest in doing another lap of Justified in an interview with TV Insider at Gotham’s TV Awards. “Oh yeah, everyone wants to do another lap of Justified,” Goggins said.
While the desire is there, Goggins acknowledges the challenges, stating, “It’s just a matter of timing and whether or not FX wants to pick it up.” However, Goggins remains optimistic, revealing, “I know that in their hearts they want to. So we’ll see.”
For those unfamiliar with Justified, the original series created by Graham Yost aired for six seasons on FX from 2010 to 2015. The show follows Raylan Givens, a U.S. Marshal based on Elmore Leonard’s novels, who enforces justice in his hometown.
In City Primeval, the story continues with Raylan now living in Miami after leaving Kentucky 15 years earlier. Balancing his role as a U.S. Marshal and a part-time father to 15-year-old Willa (Vivian Olyphant), Raylan finds himself in Detroit where he encounters various colorful characters.
Boyd makes an escape during a prison transport, setting the stage for a potential pursuit by Raylan. The elements for a continuation are in place. Would you like to see more of Justified? Share your thoughts in the comments.
