Bowlers Sean Jacobs and Caitlyn Murphy both successfully defended their Sleeping Giant Lanes high league average championships. Jacobs rolled a 227 mark to claim the men’s title for a three-peat, while Murphy won her fifth consecutive women’s crown, averaging 206.
Katie Eslick and Tiffany Lamping fired the womens’ top serieses, with a 734 and a 701, respectively. Sean Hill ranked No. 1 and No. 3 on the men’s side, with an 818 and 808. Also in that particular club was Tom Sroczyk, who was second with an 811.
Ten keglers fired perfect 300 games, including Sean Hill (twice), Randy Wood, Michael Hess, Jeff Beck, Eric Groth, Michael Liedle, Joshua Starkel, Tony Woodward, Jason Grimmis and Thaddeus St. Clair. Danielle Bolan owned the women’s best game, shooting a 290.
Keegan Effertz, with plus-26 pins, and Jessica Johnson, at plus-19 pins, accomplished the “Most Improved” averages.

In the Junior’s league, a few of the high scores belonged to Dayten Groth, Kaleb Hopkins, Ellie Runnion, Kylie Balcerzak, Skyler Ingraham, Rory Petersen, Hailey Hess and Samm Thomas. Among the best Bantam efforts were Vincent Munro, Steven Mason, Karsyn Lamping, Isaac Hoffman, Asher Bomar, Mia Knecht and Joslyn Groth.
At the 2024 Montana USBC Womens State Bowling Tournament, local keglers Randi Johnson/Joann Nevins won the 270-299 Handicap doubles championship with a score of 1452. Mickey Edgar/Shelby Sherwood finished second.
In the 135-149 Handicap division, Katelyn Matthai garnered the singles title with an 881, with Edgar placing runner-up. Leslie Farry won the Handicap 135-149 all-events, tallying 2222 pins, while Freedom Nash took second.
Other local bowlers finishing runner-up were Caitlyn Murphy in the Scratch all-events division, knocking down 1921 pins; Jessica Johnson/Erin Murphy in the Handicap 300&up doubles category; and the Gutter Girlz in the Handicap 540-599 team event.
