MONTANA – The Treasure State will see plenty of sunshine today, but changes are on the way.
Breezy to gusty winds will lead to Wind Advisories for West Glacier and Flathead Lake this evening, with northeast wind gusts up to 40 mph. Additionally, the eastern plains can expect increased southeast wind gusts up to 40 mph Sunday night into Monday morning ahead of the next disturbance.
In southwestern Montana, shower and thunderstorm activity will increase Sunday afternoon, moving northeast across the state through Monday morning. Stronger storms may bring localized heavy downpours, hail, and gusty winds.
Over the Beartooth Mountains on Sunday and into Sunday night, snowmelt combined with showers and thunderstorms may cause the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River to reach Minor Flood stage Sunday night into Tuesday.
A Flood Watch is in effect for Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River near Belfry and Edgar, with Flood Advisories in place for Sheridan (Big Goose Creek) and Big Horn (Medicine Lodge Archaeological Site) counties in Wyoming. It is advised to take precautions now to protect your property along the river.
