MISSOULA — The Montana Grizzlies have strengthened their offensive line by adding a seasoned player through the transfer portal.
Recently, Central Michigan transfer Cade Klimczak announced his commitment to UM on social media. In his post, he wrote “Committed! Go Griz!” and shared a photo of himself in a Griz uniform at Washington-Grizzly Stadium.
Klimczak has played in 26 games, with five starts in the past five years at left guard and right guard. CMU is part of the Mid-American Conference, a Group of Five conference in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
He was 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds last season, with one year of eligibility left. Klimczak was also a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree and worked his way from a walk-on to a scholarship player.
Klimczak turned down offers from FCS teams like Eastern Kentucky and Illinois State, as well as NCAA Division II teams Tiffin and Grand Valley State, in favor of UM.
In a recent development, the Griz also secured a commitment from Dane Parker, a safety who spent 2023 at Air Force Prep School and has four years of eligibility remaining.
Parker, a 3-star athlete according to 247Sports, had offers from various schools before choosing Air Force Prep over Army, Idaho, Portland State, Yale, and Penn.
