The body of Josh Briese, a native of Billings who served as a police officer in Arizona, was brought back to town on Monday night after being killed in the line of duty last week.
Services for Briese have already taken place in Arizona, and he will now be laid to rest at Rockvale Cemetery. He was the son of David Briese, a Yellowstone County sheriff’s deputy who also lost his life in the line of duty in 2006.
Here is the schedule of events for Wednesday, as provided by Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder:
9:00 AM – MetraPark Pavilion will be open to the public for casket viewing, paying respects, fellowship, and a Law Enforcement Gathering
10:30 AM – Honor Guard will transfer Officer Briese to the coach, and the Motorcade will assemble for escort.
11:00 AM – Law Enforcement procession will leave MetraPark and head towards Rockvale Cemetery, following the designated route.
11:45 – 12:00 – Arrival at Cemetery, parking, and assembly
12:05 – Officer Briese will be moved to the gravesite for the Honor Guard and Graveside service.
Due to potential traffic and construction, the times provided are approximate, but efforts will be made to stay as close to the schedule as possible.
