The Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers are reportedly looking to the UFL ranks this offseason, with one team interested in defense and the other in offense. According to NFL Media, the Cowboys, who recently lost linebacker Leighton Vander Esch to retirement, are planning to hold a workout with linebacker Willie Harvey Jr. from the St. Louis Battlehawks. Harvey led the Battlehawks in tackles with 78, including nine tackles for a loss, in 10 games this season. Despite being undrafted from Iowa State, Harvey has previously played for the Cleveland Browns in four games across the 2019 and 2021 seasons. On the offensive side, the Panthers are in need of receiving help and are expected to sign Daewood Davis, a standout wide receiver from the Memphis Showboats in the UFL. Davis topped the Showboats with 41 catches, 446 receiving yards, and five touchdown receptions in 10 games. Also on the Panthers’ radar is Hakeem Butler, another All-UFL honoree who played for the Battlehawks. Butler, a former draft pick for the Arizona Cardinals, made significant contributions with 10 catches for 652 yards and five touchdowns in 10 games for the Battlehawks. Stay tuned for updates as these teams navigate the offseason. –Field Level Media
