Furthermore, the survey highlighted that 49% of respondents believed President Biden would be more effective in improving U.S.-Israel relations compared to Trump’s 25%. A majority of participants (85%) also stated that supporting Israel is very or somewhat important since Oct. 7. Additionally, the survey revealed concerns about antisemitism, with 93% acknowledging it as a serious or somewhat of a problem in the U.S, with 87% agreeing that it has increased since Oct. 7. In addressing this issue, 55% believed that President Biden is better equipped to combat antisemitism, in contrast to 20% favoring the Republican candidate.
President Biden has faced pressure to address antisemitism and criticism of his approach towards Israel, particularly in the context of the ongoing conflict. Meanwhile, Trump has accused Biden of neglecting Israel and has been critical of the President’s response to antisemitism and recent war protests. However, the survey findings indicated that a majority of Jewish Americans approve of President Biden’s performance, with 56% expressing strong approval or some level of approval, compared to 40% who disapprove.
