A recent survey conducted from March 12 to April 6 found that a majority of Jewish Americans are planning to vote to reelect President Joe Biden over former President Donald Trump on Election Day. The survey, titled the 2024 Survey of American Jewish Opinion and published by the nonpartisan organization American Jewish Committee, asked voters various questions about current politics, including the upcoming election and how the nation’s relationship with Israel in light of the Israel-Gaza war has influenced their viewpoints.
In the survey results, 61% of voters indicated they would choose to vote for President Biden, while only 23% favored Trump. In comparison to the 2020 election, support for President Biden saw a slight decrease, with 64% of respondents voting for him in the previous election and 21% supporting Trump this time around.

According to the survey, voters believe President Biden is a better choice for improving U.S.-Israel relations, with 49% in favor of him compared to 25% for Trump. Additionally, 85% of respondents consider it very or somewhat important to support Israel since Oct. 7, which could be a significant factor in the election.
The issue of antisemitism in the U.S. is also a concern, with 93% of respondents viewing it as a serious or somewhat of a problem, and 87% believing it has increased since Oct. 7. When it comes to combatting antisemitism, 55% of voters feel President Biden is more capable, while 20% trust the Republican front-runner more.
These survey results come amid pressure on the current president to address antisemitism and criticism of his handling of the Israel-Gaza conflict. While Trump has accused President Biden of abandoning Israel and criticized his response to antisemitism, the survey shows that a majority of Jewish Americans approve of how President Biden is performing as president, with 56% strongly or somewhat approving compared to 40% disapproving.
