A member of the jury who found Hunter Biden guilty of three felony gun charges expressed his belief that the president’s son should not be sent to jail for his crimes.
The jury unanimously reached a verdict to convict Hunter Biden on three felony charges related to falsifying information about his drug use on a federal gun-purchase form in 2018. The charges indicated that Biden would have been prohibited from purchasing the gun if he had disclosed his drug use.
Shortly after the jury delivered the verdict, juror No. 10, who chose to remain unnamed, conveyed in an interview with CNN that during deliberations, they did not consider the sentencing that would follow. However, upon reflection, juror No. 10 stated his strong belief that Hunter Biden should not serve prison time.
The juror cited the circumstances under which the gun was discovered as a basis for his stance, suggesting that Hunter Biden may not have faced legal consequences if he had reclaimed the gun after it was found in a trash can.
During testimony, Hallie Biden revealed that she had removed the gun from Hunter Biden’s vehicle in 2018 and disposed of it in a dumpster at a Delaware grocery store. Despite the gun being recovered, Hunter Biden chose not to pursue the case of theft and did not seek the return of the firearm.
Juror No. 10 remarked, “If he had taken possession of that gun, I don’t know if we would even have a trial.” He implied that this decision may have led to Hunter Biden’s downfall.
The jury’s decision followed extensive investigations, with prosecutors leveraging Hunter Biden’s book, “Beautiful Things: A Memoir,” in which he confesses to drug use around the time of gun purchase, as evidence.

Following the guilty verdict, Hunter Biden potentially faces up to 25 years in prison for charges including making false statements in relation to acquiring a firearm, providing false information for record-keeping, and possessing a firearm as a user of controlled substances.
The jury deliberated for about three hours before reaching a unanimous decision, starting on Monday night.
Juror No. 10 indicated that while initial opinions among jurors were evenly split, a detailed consideration of the case’s elements led to unanimous agreement on Tuesday morning.
The juror emphasized that no political affiliations influenced their decision-making process. He clarified that the president’s family was not a topic of discussion, and the mere mention of President Joe Biden’s name during the trial did not sway the jury’s assessment.
Although expressing empathy for Hunter Biden’s struggle with addiction, the juror noted minimal discussions among jurors about his personal life beyond the presented evidence.
Juror No. 10 expressed regret that Hunter Biden’s daughter had to testify and criticized this tactic as unnecessary. He also supported the decision for Hunter Biden not to testify in court.
Despite a female juror’s opinion that the trial appeared to be a waste of taxpayer funds, juror No. 10 disagreed, highlighting how the evidence proved Hunter Biden knowingly purchased the gun while dealing with drug addiction, making it a criminal offense regardless.
