The iconic movie “Practical Magic” is set to make a comeback with a sequel.
Warner Bros. Pictures announced the exciting news through TikTok teasers, showcasing clips from the original film starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sisters, Sally and Gillian Owens.
One teaser features the magical sisters enjoying their famous “midnight margaritas,” with a text revealing the news of “Practical Magic 2.” The caption confirms, “Practical Magic 2 is on its way!”
In addition, the studio confirmed the sequel via a post on X, sharing nostalgic clips from the first movie, including one of Bullock’s character hurdling towards her love interest with text reading “Practical Magic 2.”
Despite receiving a mixed rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the original film from 1998, adapted from Alice Hoffman’s novel, has garnered a loyal following.
The story follows the Owens sisters and their magical journey of love, guided by their quirky aunts from a lineage of witches.
Filmed mostly in Washington state’s San Juan and Whidbey Islands, the movie has attracted fans to these locations, turned into popular tourist spots.
It remains uncertain if Bullock and Kidman will reprise their roles in the sequel, and Warner Bros. has not revealed a release date.
But one thing is for sure: “Always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for luck and fall in love whenever you can.”
