The cult classic film “Practical Magic” is set to return with a sequel, as confirmed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The original movie starred Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as sisters, Sally and Gillian Owens.
TikTok teasers featuring clips from the original movie have been released, with one clip showing the sisters enjoying their famous “midnight margaritas” and the exciting news of Practical Magic 2 being revealed.
The sequel was also confirmed on X with nostalgic throwback clips, including a scene of Bullock’s character in a romantic moment covered with the text “Practical Magic 2.”
Released in 1998, the original film has become a Halloween favorite despite its mixed reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Based on Alice Hoffman’s novel, the story follows the Owens sisters and their journey of love and magic, surrounded by their quirky aunts who share a magical lineage.
Although the movie was set in Massachusetts, it was mostly filmed in Washington state on San Juan and Whidbey Islands, now popular tourist spots for fans.
It remains unclear if Bullock and Kidman will reprise their roles in the sequel, and Warner Bros. has not announced a release date for the new film. Nevertheless, fans can look forward to more magical moments: “Always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for luck and fall in love whenever you can.”
