BOZEMAN — Former Montana State offensive coordinator Taylor Housewright has been hired by Georgia Southern as a senior offensive analyst.
The news was first reported by FootballScoop last month. Georgia Southern hasn’t formally announced the hire, but the Eagles recently added Housewright to their list of football coaches on their website.
Housewright planned to become the OC at Akron in January, but he never officially joined the Zips because he reportedly took a step back from coaching. MSU replaced him with tight ends coach Tyler Walker.

Housewright led prolific offenses as the OC/quarterbacks coach for the Bobcats from 2021-23. MSU suspended him for the first game of last season after he was charged with — and was ultimately found guilty of — driving under the influence.
Georgia Southern competes in the Sun Belt Conference of the Football Bowl Subdivision, one level above the Football Championship Subdivision, in which MSU plays.
