Just weeks before the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World, Scripps News meteorologist Scott Withers received an exclusive sneak peek.
This new ride, based on the “Princess and the Frog” movie, is set to open on June 28. It will feature beloved characters like Louis, Mama Odie, Prince Naveen, and Disney’s first Black princess, Tiana.
Lead Disney Imagineer Karin Hanson revealed that it took years and a large team to bring the audio-animatronic figures to life.
“This attraction showcases the highest number of electric audio-animatronic figures we’ve ever had,” Hanson explained.
Replacing Splash Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure follows the same track and culminates in a thrilling five-story drop.
Walt Disney World Ambassador Shannon Smith-Conrad shared, “I appreciate the nostalgic vibe of the ride while also embracing the new chapter featuring Tiana and her companions.”
Disneyland in Anaheim, California, is also set to unveil Tiana’s Bayou Adventure later this year.
