BUTTE — The 2023-24 school year was one to remember for the Dillon Beavers.
In the fall, the Beavers capped off a perfect 11-0 football season with its first state championship since 2016. The boys’ basketball team doubled down in the winter, capturing their first title on the hardwood since the 2016-17 season.

Seven years after Troy Andersen and company led Dillon to state titles in both football and basketball, this year’s Beavers found a way to replicate it. It’s the fourth time since 2006 that Dillon won state titles in football and boys’ basketball in the same year (2006-07, 2011-12, 2016-17 and 2023-24).
This week, four players from the Beavers’ football title team – Cooper Anderson, Kee Christiansen, Max Davis and Landen Peterson – get one last chance to strap up the pads together as part of the 77th annual Montana East-West Shrine Game.
“It’s awesome,” Davis said of playing alongside his teammates for the Shrine Game.
“I’ve been playing with these boys for so long and we had such a great season this year, finishing off with a state championship and now getting to play with all of them one more time, it’s just amazing.”
