BILLINGS — Cooper Tyson never had the opportunity to play with his older brother, Cade Tyson, on the boys basketball team at Billings West. The siblings missed out on being in high school together by one year.
The younger Tyson has still drawn inspiration from his older brother’s path in his hoops career, but only in certain aspects.
Both brothers have now been selected to the Montana boys team for the annual Midland Roundtable Montana-Wyoming All-Star Basketball Series. Cade was chosen for the 2020 game, which was eventually canceled due to the pandemic, while Cooper was selected for this year’s squad.
Although both brothers stayed in town for their college hoops careers, they made different choices. Cade signed with Rocky Mountain College’s men’s basketball program, where he played for three seasons before graduating this spring. On the other hand, Cooper chose to sign with crosstown rival Montana State Billings.
