BILLINGS — A period of unsettled weather is set to begin on Friday.
Southwest flow will bring hot temperatures to central and eastern Montana and northeastern Wyoming on Friday afternoon. This could lead to isolated strong to severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, strong winds, and hail during the afternoon and evening.
There will still be a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, with a possibility of strong to severe storms, particularly in northeastern Montana, before a cold front moves through Saturday night. Sunday will see mainly dry conditions and cooler temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
Early next week, a low pressure system is expected to impact the area, bringing a good chance of lower elevation rain and mountain snow on Monday and Tuesday. Depending on the track of the low, there could be 1-2″ of rainfall across the region, so prepare for wet weather.
Highs on Monday and Tuesday will be in the 60s, warming to the upper 60s to low 70s by mid-week.
