Severe thunderstorms are expected to impact parts of the Great Plains and Midwest on Thursday night.
The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center has issued a warning for severe storms in the central and southern Great Plains and Midwest areas. These storms could bring large hail, strong winds, and even tornadoes.
The forecast includes storms moving from northern Missouri to west-central Illinois, with the potential for very large hail and tornado activity.
In the Great Plains region, storms could produce large hail and wind gusts reaching up to 80 miles per hour.
The areas with the highest risk for severe storms include Kansas City and Topeka, Kansas, as well as Peoria, Illinois. A slight risk area extends from Amarillo, Texas to Springfield, Illinois.
