BILLINGS — A line of showers and thunderstorms formed Friday afternoon stretching from West Yellowstone to Billings. Expect scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in southern Montana and northern Wyoming this evening, with the rain tapering off overnight and clouds increasing on Saturday morning.
The first of multiple disturbances will impact our region over the weekend, bringing scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Some of the thunderstorms may be strong, and Saturday will be windy with breezy conditions continuing into Sunday. Although Sunday will mostly be dry, another disturbance is on the horizon.
A trough of low pressure is forecasted to move over the northern Rockies on Monday and Tuesday, bringing a higher chance of widespread rain, gusty winds, and mountain snow. Winter Storm Watches are in effect for many Montana mountain ranges during this time. Expect cooler than average temperatures on Monday and Tuesday.
