Actor Nick Pasqual, known for his roles in episodes of How I Met Your Mother and Archive 81, has entered a plea of not guilty for attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend more than 20 times.
According to Deadline, Pasqual was extradited from Texas to Los Angeles, California, to face the attempted murder charge. He had previously fled California and was apprehended at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas, as reported by the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office.
Pasqual, who also worked as a producer on the comedy series National Day Riff, is facing charges of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and causing injury to a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent.
The incident occurred when Pasqual allegedly broke into the Los Angeles home of his ex-girlfriend, Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn, and stabbed her more than 20 times at 4:30 a.m. on May 23. Shehorn, known for her work on Mean Girls, Rebel Moon, and Babylon, had previously obtained a restraining order against Pasqual.
After arriving in Los Angeles the day prior, Pasqual pled not guilty on June 13 at a San Fernando courtroom. He was remanded without bail, and his next court appearance is scheduled for July 16, per Deadline.
If convicted, Pasqual could be sentenced to life imprisonment.
As previously reported, following the attack, Shehorn was discovered by her surrogate mother and taken to a local hospital, where she spent several days in intensive care. To assist with her medical expenses, Shehorn’s friends launched a GoFundMe campaign.
The most recent update on the GoFundMe page, posted on June 9, mentioned, “It’s been awhile since we’ve updated everyone. Things got real. Allie is doing her best to stay positive but the struggle is hard. There are complications that we cannot release to the public at this time. But she is feeling better and appreciates the love and support.”
