FORT MOHAVE, AZ – Luana Marie Spellerberg Curry passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 in Fort Mohave, Arizona. She was born November 30, 1932 in Boise, Idaho to Art and Lena Spellerberg.
Luana met the love of her life, Jim Curry, on a blind date while he was stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base and on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1954 she and Jim were united in marriage in Boise, Idaho. They settled in Butte in 1959 where Jim operated and then owned the Butte Business College for many years and Luana became a homemaker and caregiver, raising nine children.
Both Jim and Luana became heavily involved in their Catholic faith, participating and leading Cursillo’s, a Charismatic Prayer Group and becoming house parents at the Denny Driscoll Boys Home in Butte.
She is survived her children and their spouses: Dave and Eva Curry of Butte; Denise Feuerborn of Sidney, Nebraska; Crystal Curry of Butte; Mark Curry of Orange Park, Florida; Timothy and Cheryl Curry of Vancouver, Washington; Melanie and Kelly Esquibel of Butte; Bernadette and Kent Rice of Helena; Chandra Curry of Butte; and Dana and Lana Curry of Helena as well as 27 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and the 6th great-great-grandchild on the way.
Vigil Service at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 18. Funeral Services on Wednesday, June 19 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Butte.
