Billings Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a machete attack in North Park on Wednesday.
Police were called to the park at about 1:45 p.m. where they found an injured 25-year-old man bleeding from his face. A caller to 911 said the man had been involved in a fight with a man wielding a machete.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with a serious but not life-threatening cut, police said in a Thursday press statement.
Officers believe the assault was not random.
“However, all of the witnesses were un- cooperative and would not provide a suspect name, description, or direction of travel,” Police Lt. Matt Lennick said. “The victim has also chosen to not participate in the investigation at this time.”
For the safety of the community, the Billings Police Department would still like to identify the suspect involved in this incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police dispatch at 406-657-8200.
