The rumored rivalry between WNBA stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese has driven ticket prices sky-high for their upcoming rematch when the Indiana Fever face off against the Chicago Sky on Sunday.
According to the online ticket marketplace TickPick, the average price for a ticket to the highly anticipated game exceeded $270 as of Friday afternoon, with the “get-in” price starting at around $200. If these numbers hold steady in the next 48 hours, this Fever-Sky rematch could become the most expensive game in WNBA history.

The last encounter between Clark and Reese was filled with on-court drama, with Reese receiving a flagrant foul in the third quarter for inadvertently hitting Clark with her elbow, causing the Fever star to fall to the ground. Following the game, Reese criticized the foul and the officiating.
“I think we were playing really hard. I think we went up really strong a lot of times and we didn’t get a lot of calls,” she expressed to reporters. “And going back into looking at the film, I’ve seen a lot of calls that weren’t made. I guess some people got a special whistle.”
On the other hand, Clark shared her perspective.
“It is what it is, you know, she’s trying to make a play on the ball and get the block,” Clark commented after the 91-83 win. “I mean it happens.”

Whether a true rivalry between Clark and Reese exists or is a narrative pushed by the media, one thing is certain – the WNBA is benefiting from the storyline. CBS recently reported that last Sunday’s match between the Fever and Sky attracted an average of 2.25 million viewers, making it the most-watched WNBA game on any television network in 23 years.
However, the spotlight on the WNBA is not just due to Clark and Reese. They are part of a standout rookie class that includes names like Kamilla Cardoso, Cameron Brink, and Rickea Jackson, all contributing to the unprecedented support for women’s basketball.
