BILLINGS — Following the hottest day of 2024 so far, temperatures will slightly decrease for the rest of the week, remaining above seasonal averages until Thursday, which also marks our next best chance of rain.
Unofficial readings indicate that Livingston and Sheridan, Wyoming, both tied their daily record highs for June 23rd at 96 and 103, respectively.
Isolated thunderstorms are predicted in the region during the evening hours, especially from Billings to the north. Overnight temperatures will be mild, with Monday morning temperatures ranging from the 50s to mid 60s.
Monday afternoon highs will primarily be in the 80s with occasional breezy conditions. High temperatures will mostly stay in the 80s, with some areas reaching the 90s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thursday presents the best chance of showers and thunderstorms and marks the beginning of a cool down. Highs on Thursday will be in the 80s to low 90s, with the possibility of storms increasing in the afternoon and evening.
Depending on the timing of the weather system, there is a chance of strong to severe storms on Thursday evening. A few isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday will bring cooler temperatures with highs in the 60s to low 70s.
Starting off relatively cool on Saturday, with lows mainly in the 40s, temperatures will rise to the 70s and 80s on Saturday and Sunday.
