Olivia Lewis from Corvallis High School made history by becoming the first Gatorade Montana Girls Track and Field Player of the Year. The announcement was made by the sports drink company on Tuesday morning.
This prestigious award acknowledges excellence both on the field and off, taking into consideration academic performance and community involvement. Lewis, a senior sprinter/hurdler standing 5-foot-7, set a new state record and secured three gold medals at the state meet, leading her team to victory in the Class A state championship.
She clocked a time of 41.86 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles, breaking the state standard and ranking 19th in the nation at the time of her selection. Additionally, she won gold in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.49 and in the 400 meters with a time of 55.52.

Not only is Lewis a standout athlete, but she also devotes her time to volunteering with the Special Olympics, Colors For Cancer 5K, highway cleanups, and food drives. She has shown exceptional versatility and durability in her achievements.
With a 3.84 grade-point average, Lewis has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on scholarship at Montana State University starting this fall. She joins a distinguished list of former award winners in Montana.
