STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In the Borough of Parks, picnic opportunities present themselves continually. But for those who choose the refined over the rustic outdoor supping, the patio, backyard or seaside perch prove a more attractive set of options.

Carefully composed dishes with a strong seafood focus, house-made pastas and a finely curated wine list put seaside Pastavino in an echelon of its own. If taking the train, get off at the Stapleton station and walk north to the Urby complex.
