A celebration for the commemoration of “Feaver’s Union,” a new trail named for the late Helena city commissioner and labor leader Eric Feaver, will be 10 a.m. Monday.
The dedication will be at the intersection of LeGrande Cannon Boulevard and Grant Street in Helena, Prickly Pear Land Trust announced. The public may attend.
“Eric was a very dear friend to Prickly Pear Land Trust; he poured every ounce of his energy into better outcomes for this place and our entire state,” Mary Hollow, PPLT director, said on a Facebook posting. “And he especially loved the wildflowers and trails in the South Hills so this outcome is beautifully appropriate.”
He was in his first term on the Helena City Commission when he died in June 2022. He was 77.
Multiple sources on all sides of the political spectrum described him as a “giant.”

His 36 years in leadership made him one of the longest serving elected union officials in America.
