The Midnight Van to Georgia, led by the Scripps News political team, made its final stop in a swing city before heading to the presidential debate in Atlanta.
On Wednesday, Andrew Rafferty, Joe St. George, and Serena Marshall of Scripps News arrived in Athens, Georgia, to gauge voter sentiment before the upcoming debate.
While refueling on the way to Athens, they met Emanuel Boneparte, who was undecided after voting for Joe Biden in 2020 due to a dislike for Trump’s lies.

Boneparte emphasized the importance of truth in his decision-making process but wanted to gather more information before choosing between Biden and an independent candidate.
Upon visiting the University of Georgia area at lunchtime, the team encountered undecided voters, with college students raising concerns about issues affecting their community.

Issues like foreign policy and human rights were top of mind for voters like Luca and Nathan, who were undecided about their vote in the upcoming election.
Despite differing political views, a mother-daughter duo found common ground in the importance of civility and goodwill in politics.

The presidential debate is set for Thursday at 9 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on CNN, with Scripps News airing the simulcast on-air and online.
