One airman was killed and three others were injured in a vehicle accident Saturday at Malmstrom Air Force Base, officials said.
Two more first-responder airmen were injured while responding to the accident, officials said. The five injured airmen were transported to nearby medical facilities.
The cause of the accident at the Great Falls base is under investigation and steps are being taken to ensure the safety of personnel and prevent future incidents, Malmstrom officials said in a news release.
They said they are providing support and assistance to those impacted by this event.
âEach of our Airmen are amazing and are vital members of our team,â Col. Dan Voorhies, 341st Missile Wing commander, said in the news release. âWe will need time to grieve for our teammate that we lost and for our injured members to heal both physically and mentally.â
