The Butte Miners celebrated the Fourth of July a little early, thanks to a walk-off win and a sweep over the Dillon Cubs on Wednesday night.
In the first game of the double dip, Butte found itself trailing 6-4 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. After Dillon balked in a run, which trimmed the Cubs lead to 6-5, but left Tocher Lee on third base, Anthony Knott evened the score with an RBI triple.
Then, on the next at bat, Quinn Cox called game with a sacrifice fly out to center, giving the Miners a 7-6 come-from-behind win.
Butte managed just five hits in the game with Knott, Lee, Ethan Cunningham, Will Stepan and Karsen McEwen each getting hits. McEwen drove in two runs in the win for the Miners who got 6 2/3 innings from Derek Dunmire.
Dunmire was given the loss after he allowed six runs on seven hits. Gavin Trudgeon got just one out but was credited with the win after coming on in relief.

Damon Skradski got the loss for the Cubs after allowing six runs, four earned, in six innings of work. He also went 3-for-4 at the plate in the loss.
In game two, Butte needed just five innings to dispose of Dillon. Cayde Stajcar drove in four runs for the Miners on three hits including a double. Butte led just 1-0 entering the third inning when the Miners plated 15 runs.
Butte had five doubles in the win, as well as 11 hits total. Dillon was hindered by seven errors. Knott drove in three runs for Butte thanks to a double, while Cox added two RBI and also had double, as did Stepan. Ethan Cunningham also notched an extra-base hit in the win that improved Butte to 18-7 on the season. Cunningham earned the decision too after allowing zero runs on three hits, while striking out seven in five innings of work.
The Miners will host American Legion Post 30 Bandits for a doubleheader on Saturday. The first game starts at 5 p.m.
