HELENA — Another week and another D-1 commitment for the Helena Capital Bruins.
Vaughn Wirkus, a 6-foot-6, 250-pound offensive tackle who earned second-team all-conference honors for the Bruins last season, announced his pledge to the Montana State football program over an offer from Nevada, an FBS program, as well as Montana.
The Grizzlies did land the commitment of Helena Capital QB/athlete Merek Mihelish last week, who is expected to play safety for U-M. However, Wirkus, who will be blocking for Mihelish this season, chose the Montana State Bobcats.
“After a lot of consideration and talks with my family, I’m very happy to announce my commitment to Montana State. Go Cats!” Wirkus wrote on X.
