A fundraiser for Stormy Daniels has raised over $1 million to support her in relocating to a safer home and covering legal expenses following her testimony against former President Donald Trump.
Daniels, also known as Stephanie Clifford, played a crucial role in Trump’s hush money trial, which resulted in the former president being convicted of 34 felony counts related to falsifying business records. Prosecutors argued that Trump paid Daniels, an adult film star, $130,000 before the 2016 election to keep quiet about their past affair, falsely logging the payment as legal fees.
Since the trial’s conclusion in May, Daniels has faced numerous death threats and escalating legal costs as Trump continues legal actions against her, as explained by her friend and former manager Dwayne Crawford, who initiated the GoFundMe campaign.
The GoFundMe page, titled “I Stand with Stormy Daniels #WeAreAllStormy,” details the unsafe situation Daniels now faces after her address was leaked, resulting in threats and harassment. Crawford mentions incidents involving her horses being shot and constant paparazzi presence. Additionally, Daniels faced a court order demanding information about her child, putting her in a difficult position.
“Stormy needs assistance to relocate her family to a secure environment and cover mounting legal fees to prevent Trump from using his financial resources to intimidate her,” wrote Crawford on the GoFundMe page.
In an MSNBC interview, Daniels shared her struggles with harassment and financial burdens since testifying, including threats against her family and the inability to pay her $500,000 legal fees.
The update on the GoFundMe reflects Daniels’ determination to stand by her truth despite financial challenges, with donations from countless individuals aiding her in covering legal expenses.
“I am overwhelmed by the support, with donations exceeding $1 million from 19,500 individuals, demonstrating the power of grassroots support,” expressed Daniels, grateful for the generosity of everyday people. She pledged to utilize the remaining funds for a secure relocation.
“I am immensely grateful for the outpouring of support, and the funds will allow me to move to a safe place once legal fees are settled,” Daniels concluded with appreciation.
