The White House addressed concerns about President Biden’s health on Monday, following reports of visits by a Parkinson’s specialist over eight months.
The New York Times reported Dr. Kevin Cannard from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center made eight visits to the White House, meeting with President Biden’s doctor during at least one visit.
Initially, the White House did not confirm the purpose of the visits, but later revealed that the neurologist held regular clinics to support White House operations.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre discussed President Biden’s test regimen but did not confirm specific details of Cannard’s visits.
The same neurologist saw Biden during annual physicals, with the memo stating no signs of neurological disorders were found.
Biden has denied undergoing Parkinson’s treatment or medication, citing his daily cognitive tests.
Regarding new cognitive tests, Jean-Pierre stated they are not needed, as Biden demonstrates cognitive abilities through his daily duties.
National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby reassured allies about Biden’s health ahead of the NATO summit.
The president reaffirmed his commitment to the 2024 election in a letter to Congressional Democrats.
