The Butte Miners and Belgrade Bandits split another doubleheader on Tuesday evening.
After Butte started the night strong with an 8-6 victory, Belgrade bounced back in the second leg with a win of its own, 13-8. The Miners and Bandits previously split a doubleheader at 3 Legends Stadium on Saturday.
The Miners used a late offensive surge to win Tuesday’s opener. Trailing 6-3 entering the sixth inning, Butte scored four runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh.
Seven different players drove in a run for the Miners in the win. Anthony Knott (3) and Matthew Donaldson (2) both had multi-hit games.
Ethan Cunningham earned the win as he struck out five batters in his 5.2 innings of work. He allowed seven hits and four earned runs. Derek Dunmire recorded the final four outs and didn’t allow a hit.

It was the Bandits’ offense that came alive late in the second leg of the doubleheader, posting six runs in the fifth inning and another half dozen in the sixth. A five-run sixth inning from the Miners ultimately wasn’t enough.
Tocher Lee and Tegan Duffy both drove in a pair of runs for the Miners in the loss. Duffy and Logan Carden each had three-hit games.
Justin Garcia earned the win for Belgrade as he allowed eight hits and six earned runs in his six innings on the mound. Chance Stephens closed out the game, striking out a pair of batters in the seventh inning.
After going 2-2 against the Bandits in recent days, the Miners remain atop the South A standings with a 12-4 record in the league. They are 20-9 overall. Belgrade is 15-10 overall and 6-8 in South A.
Butte is scheduled to be back in action on Friday in Helena for a doubleheader against the Reps (21-22, 7-5 South A). The first game of the night is set to begin at 5 p.m.
Belgrade takes on the Dillon Cubs (15-17, 4-8) in a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m.
