Reports indicate that there has been a casualty in Vermont following the impact of Hurricane Beryl’s remnants on the Northeastern United States. The region experienced heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and tornadoes as a result of the storm.
Vermont saw over 6 inches of rainfall in some areas, leading to dangerous flash floods that destroyed cars and even a small apartment building. The fatality was confirmed in Peacham, a community located to the east of Montpelier, the state’s capital.
Footage from Barre, Vermont, depicted water rushing through the streets, prompting residents to evacuate the area. At the time of writing, around 2,500 residents in the state were still without power, according to vtoutages.org.

Additionally, the National Weather Service confirmed the occurrence of two tornadoes in western New York on Wednesday, causing destruction to buildings and homes. Fortunately, there have been no reports of any serious injuries from these incidents.
Hurricane Beryl initially made landfall in Texas as a Category 1 hurricane before moving across the Central and Northeastern U.S. More than a million people in Texas are still without power, as intense heat persists across the state. Emergency measures, such as cooling centers, may be necessary for several weeks if air conditioning remains unavailable.

The storm system has resulted in multiple fatalities from Texas to Louisiana. Additionally, Beryl claimed the lives of at least 11 individuals as it passed through the Caribbean as a Category 5 hurricane.
