MONTANA – Anticipate daytime temperatures reaching the 90s, with overnight temperatures dropping to the 50s and 60s on Saturday. Heat advisories remain in effect as the weekend will bring nearly triple digit temperatures.
Expect a day of hot, dry, and windy conditions in central and southwest Montana, prompting red flag warnings. Fires, both existing and new, will spread rapidly and be challenging to control.
There is a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms in northeast Montana, particularly in Hill and Blaine counties, with the potential for strong to severe storms. These storms may bring strong winds, large hail, heavy rain, and lightning.
Temperatures will start to decrease early next week, but above average temperatures will return with a ridge moving in.
