MONTANA – Fire danger remains at the top of Montanan’s minds as Hore Gulch remains aflame.
Many counties, including Lewis & Clark, are under Red Flag Warnings as of today, with intensified fire danger.
Humidity levels are extremely low (around 15%) and excessive heat lingers over the west with highs in the 90s and 100s. Winds are anticipated to pick up tomorrow around the Horse Gulch area with gust potential to 30 mph.
Severe Thunderstorm Watches are in place for this afternoon and evening between Havre and Glendive. Frequent lightning and severe showers are possible, with a chance of quarter-sized hail and wind gusts to 60 mph in the Harlem, Fort Belknap, and Zurich areas where Warnings have been issued.
