Reports indicate that Donald Trump was swiftly escorted off the stage at his campaign event in Pennsylvania on Saturday (July 13) by Secret Service officials. Video footage showed the former president with a bloodied ear, being surrounded by agents who led him to safety.
Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi released a statement on social media, stating, “An incident occurred at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania on July 13. Protective measures have been put in place by the Secret Service, and the former President is safe. This incident is under active investigation, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.”
Congresspersons at the event reported hearing gunshots during the altercation. Fox News’ Chad Pegram tweeted, “Rep. Dan Meuser (R-PA) heard 8-10 shots at the rally near Trump. It appears multiple people in the crowd may have been hit. Meuser described the sound as similar to a .22 or small caliber weapon.”
