President Joe Biden has announced a series of security and accountability measures in response to the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
During a Pennsylvania rally where Trump narrowly escaped injury, Biden ordered an independent review of national security. The findings of this review will be made public.

This review is expected to complement ongoing investigations by congressional committees. Both the House and Senate have announced plans to conduct their own inquiries.
Furthermore, President Biden has instructed the head of the Secret Service to review all security protocols ahead of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, which commences on Monday.
Although Trump contemplated postponing the convention by two days, he ultimately opted to retain the original schedule. “I cannot allow a ‘shooter’ or potential assassin to dictate changes to our plans,” he stated.

Both Trump and Biden have emphasized the need for national unity in the wake of the assassination attempt. “We must come together as one nation to show our strength,” said President Biden from the White House on Sunday.
The president is set to deliver a speech from the Oval Office later on Sunday night at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
