Euro 2024 final odds, preview & picks: Spain vs. England best bets for Sunday
England entered the tournament as the odds-on favorite to win the competition, but recently were overtaken by Spain on the way to this final.
The Spaniards won all six of their matches with only one of them reaching extra time. England has walked on much thinner ice, but heads into the final full of spirit after an Ollie Watkins’ added-time winner against Netherlands in the semifinal.
England’s best performance of the Euros came in its semifinal win against an aggressive Dutch squad. They responded to falling behind in just seven minutes to win 2-1, while registering more possession, shots and shots on target than their opponent.
The odds now pit Spain as the favorite to win the Euros at -150, while England is a +110 underdog, per BetMGM sportsbook.
The English have never won a European championship. They reached the final against Italy last year, where they were defeated in penalty kicks despite Luke Shaw scoring in the second minute of the match.
Spain finished third at the last Euros and last won the competition in 2012. A win would cement the shift in generations as hardly anyone on their current squad has won international hardware.
Spain has been the best team at the tournament bar none. They are fluid in attack but also have the strength to defend and the patience to control the midfield, even without the injured Pedri in the center of the field.
Spain’s speed and athleticism on the flanks combined with Dani Olmo’s creativity in the center of attack will be a handful for an England team that has been timid at times, as seen in Xavi Simons’ goal in the semifinal.
England, as we mentioned, was poor throughout the competition until their surprising performance against the Netherlands. Their run to the final features an uninspiring line of opponents that includes Serbia, Denmark, Slovenia, Slovakia, Switzerland and the Dutch, whereas Spain has already beaten the likes of France, Germany, Italy and Croatia.
England either drew or needed extra time to win five of its six matches at the Euros. Spain is far too inventive and willing to commit bodies forward for England to survive playing in its shell the way it has, which is why we like the favorites to vindicate the odds.

Is it a tall ask for a 16-year-old to produce a goal contribution in the Euro Final? Absolutely. But if there’s a 16-year-old who is up for the challenge, it should be the outstanding Lamine Yamal.
Yamal likely has a place waiting for him in the Team of the Tournament and is the odds-on favorite to win Player of the Tournament. His four goal contributions (spread across four of six matches) are tied for the second-most on the team and are only one off of Olmo’s five.
The Barcelona wunderkind is a central point in attack and produced the best goal of the Euros with a thunderous strike from well outside the box in the semifinal against France.
His confidence is high, and he will be extremely dangerous on the left side of defense, which has been a sore spot for England in this tournament.
